We are specialists in frames made from natural woods.

We use hardwoods from Europe (Beech, Ramin) and North America (Ash, Oak and Tulip). We also use softer woods (Obeche) which are often used as a base for colouring, staining or special finishes.

Oak, with a mellow tone, has an attractive grain and is in our opinion the most distinguished of all the framing woods. Each of the woods however, have their own unique characteristics and each lend themselves to different applications. Ash has a very distinctive, patterned grain, beech a very consistent small flecked grain pattern. Ramin is a pale straight grained hardwood ideal for even finishes and obeche, being softer, is ideally suited to receiving stains and waxes.

All are available stained/dyed, with a tinted wax finish or left as nature intended.

All the woods we use are from sustainable sources.
